I've been screen-printing some of my Sardana prints. The Sardana is a traditional Catalan dance performed by young and old at village fiestas and holidays. The dancers should really be in a circle - but that didn't fit in with the composition! It is available to buy on my website and Etsy shop. The original illustration was inspired by a tiny village in Catalonia where we have a family house. We go there as often as we can and I'm really looking forward to some Spanish sunshine this year as just today the met office has announced that it's not going to be a 'barbecue' summer here as predicted but yet another wet, grey one, what a surprise!

a bit of light opera

I couldn't resist these old record covers at the charity shop today, lovely colours and graphics. I particularly love the running policemen. They both go rather well with the 1945 Sadlers Wells edition of Peter Grimes.

roddy&ginger at the seaside

I took a trip to Whitstable in Kent yesterday to take some samples to the lovely shop Frank run by Mary Claire and Rob. They sell a quirky selection of British handmade, home made and contemporary applied art and will now be stocking a small selection of roddy&ginger prints and textiles. Although Whitstable has changed a lot from when I knew it in my college days it still has it's slightly scruffy fishy charm and was looking lovely in the sunshine, getting ready for the famous oyster festival next week.

open studio

Back in May this year we had our first open studio weekend (actually this is our kitchen, the studio is downstairs). We had a great time and met lots of lovely people, so a big thank-you to all who came.

sunny day

The sun's out in my small back garden - a great day for drying, so I'm printing today. Cushion covers and aprons for a wholesale order. All available in my shop

Welcome to my blog! Here's where I will be posting news and events from roddy&ginger and life at my small studio here in London. I have been taking photos of prints for my new etsy shop, couldn't resist this prop - Roddy's Auntie Dill in a wedding hat
