new cushion

I found an under-used screen and made a limited edition of these cushions for the Mid-Century Modern show at the beginning of December. And guess what? they outsold everything else. So I have put  the remaining few in my shop and they are available to buy now. Printed in shades of indigo (Dulux colour of the year 2014 don't you know!) onto white cotton barkcloth. Printing onto barkcloth is not easy and 9-10 pulls are needed to get a good coverage of ink, but the result is worth it, it has a lovely depth of colour and subtle textured effect. More colours and additions to the range will follow after Christmas.

Modern day out

It was a frosty day, flocks of geese were grazing on the playing fields and Hogwarts style lights hovered over the impressive array of Mid-Century furniture in the fabulous '60s setting of the Christensen Hall at Dulwich College. I was hoping that my corner at the Mid-Century Modern show on Sunday would look cool, minimal and edited. As usual, it ended up as a bit of a market stall. I can't resist piling on products old and new.
Lucy stepped in as my lovely assistant and we had a busy day, made all the better by friendly neighbours Mark from mini-moderns (all on his own while Keith manned their Christmas pop-up shoppe in Columbia Road) and Julia from Winter's Moon, it was great to catch up. What amazed me was that at an event full of cool hunting mid-century types our best seller was the roddy the owl print, it seems everyone still loves an owl.

I am back from Spain and it's going to be a busy month as I am taking a stand at the Midcentury Modern show down the hill in Dulwich College on 2nd December. Stock is quite low and I am hoping to have some brand new designs ready for the show so I have decided to organise my week: Monday for admin and Tuesday will be my printing day. I have started well, today its an edition of ballooning screen print.

Not sure about Wednesday, Thursday and Friday yet!
