wild west

I have always thought that the Logpile wallpaper in woodsmoke would make a great feature in a boys bedroom so with this in mind I gave it a bit of cowboy style. Here's the result, starring my vintage rocking horse - I knew it would be a useful prop one day. Great photography by Heather Hobhouse who as usual reigned me in from my eagerness to over prop. I was ready with the log hooks, cowboy hats and wigwam which she gently managed to avoid using!

We also shot the new Smalltown wallpaper and cushions ready for a launch late summer - exciting!

delivery

The first batch of trays and cutting mats arrived in the post this morning. Rocking horse in olive and Logpile in black and silver birch. The trays are 28cmx36cm, a great size for coffee and cake or breakfast in bed. I will be putting them into my shop over the next couple of days.

new products

I like to use any profits from my open studio event for new products, last year it was wallpaper, this year something a little easier! And, great excitement, prototypes of my rocking horse design as a tray and cutting mat arrived in the post today. Now I have to make decisions (this I am not good at!). Should I split the order and do this in teal as well? Should I do two designs? I would like a tray in the Logpile design and a cutting mat just so that I can call it 'chop chop'. I hope to have production in place before my Summer holiday ready for Autumn. (I can't believe summer is racing away before it has even started here in the UK, we are back to skies the colour of tin buckets today)

rock on

It's the second weekend of open studio and I found time this week between drawing lions and designing puddings to make a new screen inspired by my mid-century rocking horse. This one is a little more plump and is sporting a fine Welsh blanket. I will see how it goes over this weekend it should appear in my shop next week.

We are open today from 11am to 6pm details on the Open House website we are number 157 on the venue map.
