giveaway winner!

Thank-you for your lovely comments, overall the runaway popular colour was most definitely silver birch, followed by moss yellow with woodsmoke just behind, so very useful information when I order my first batch. I agree, it's very hard to decide, my favourite on the roll is woodsmoke which is a really lovely smokey grey blue colour but on the wall and in the pictures I'm with the majority, I prefer silver birch.

I couldn't work out how to do the random number picker so you will have to trust me with the time honored hat method. And the winner of the logpile cushion, picked out from roddy's aunty dill by my son is Rebecca from Little Tree who favoured the moss yellow paper. You can uncross your fingers now Rebecca! (I have left a message in your comments)

the lucky winners!

I had a fantastic response to my giveaway - 70 entries! I really enjoyed reading the comments and felt quite embarrassed at times as they were so lovely. So I decided to select two winners, all the entries were folded and placed into roddy's Auntie Dill and the winners were picked out by the lovely Lucy.
And here they are - congratulations to Evita and Littlemithi!

roddy&ginger giveaway!

I thought it was about time I held a little giveaway on my blog!  So here it is... I am giving away a roddy or pomegranate tree cushion (maybe one of each if I gets lots of entries, hope I do or I will feel a little foolish!) They are both available printed onto natural linen and I have also listed the pomegranate tree cushions printed onto lovely crisp white linen. You can see the range here and here. To enter just leave a comment on my blog, let me know your favourite and I will pick the winner from a hat next Monday. I am really looking forward to your comments! (and if you want to mention it on your blog that would be lovely x)

love letters

I couldn't decide between these two lovely vintage Olivetti typewriters when I saw them in the charity shop so I bought them both. I love their morris minor colours and the red button and the ding! Anyone here under the age of twenty is fascinated by them. I think they are just amazed by letters coming out of a such a primitive mechanical object.
I couldn't find an exclaimation mark key which shows that the overuse of this particular bit of punctuation must be a very modern thing!!
As it says on the last image, I am going to do my first roddy&ginger giveaway next week so please come back and take part!!! details soon.

colourful covers

I discovered a basement book shop in Crystal Palace. A cobwebby underground space with tens of thousands of old books in tottering towers. The low ceiling  and the chain smoking owner gave it a Dickensian atmosphere which is just how secondhand book shops should be. There were corners of the shop that had not been disturbed for years, one row of books was propped up by a small rock hard loaf of brown bread. I staggered out gasping for air with a small stack of unusual books. Here are just a few; a german book about goldfish, a british ramblers guide, a cute japanese story book (flying pants?!) and a series of books about India with beautiful bold cover illustrations.

Kate has selected a winner for the roddy&ginger giveaway over on her blog. Congratulations to Tonya Henehan, there will be a happy birds cushion in the post! And thank-you to everyone who entered.
